Food, Friends, and Fun

I love parties, picnics, bbqs, whatever! Any excuse to get together and have a good time! We had a bunch of friends over for a barbeque and Memorial Day. 7 families, 26 kids. It was a great time. I think the kids had a blast. I have fond memories of big holiday gatherings with all our family friends when I was growing up. It was my favorite thing. I think it's so important to get these kids together to bond, and feel a part of our ward family. I'm a big believer that the more we instigate these fun times together, the more they (our kids) feel like all these people love them and are their friends, and that they belong in this group. So bring on the gatherings!!!

The kids found this darling little bird nest at the top of the yard. Yesterday I saw Alec up there filling his pocket with the little eggs, so sad. I think he only got two though before I interveined.

When we built this house one of my biggest concerns was how to make the back yard really functional because the whole thing sloped uphill. This is what we came up with, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it held and entertained 41 people.
