This is what our weekend amounted to.
About a cord of chopped, stacked fire wood. We headed up to our cabin Thursday after work. We spent literally all day Friday, and all Saturday morning working. We chopped and stacked this wood. The kids stacked the whole pile on the left themselves, it took them almost three hours to carry over and pile one or two pieces at a time. Then I did most of the second pile Saturday. I was so proud of them for working so hard. We also cleaned out this whole shed and layed the crates. We spread two yards of fresh gravel right behind the cabin. And we cleaned out the whole garden area, at least I think that's what it was at one time. We're sore and tired, but we had a great time. We also played a bunch of games, watched a couple movies, and rode the three wheelers. Good times!

Holy pile of wood! Great for the kids work ethic and character! Luke is way too cute. I can't believe how fast the time is passing. At least you are documenting it with your blog.

I love your family work weekend. Your vision of the cabin family time is really happening! Just think of the memories you are creating as a family. Twenty years from now, they are going to be sitting around remembering piling log after log after log. And they will smile.
Wow. Super impressive! Never having owned a plot of land of our own, we are really looking forward to weekends spent out in the yard, getting our hands dirty with these types of projects. Sounds fun!
