Ridin' Bikes

Last weekend we had a little time on our hands, so we decided to go for a little bike ride. We loaded up the truck and headed out to Mirabu Park to hop on the Centennial Trail. Abbie and Reese were on their own bikes. Alec rode on the front of Chad's in this great little seat we have, and Luke in the bike trailer. It was about 90 degrees when we set out. Almost 4 hours later, we pulled into Chad's parents driveway in Post Falls. We had ridden 21 miles. It was long, but a lot of fun. They kids were awesome! They had a great time, and didn't complain a word. I told Chad- we rode our bikes as long as it would have taken to drive to Seattle. Yikes. When we were getting ready to go home at about 8pm, Abbie leaned over to me and whispered "Mom, I don't really want to ride our bikes home." Poor thing. She was anticipating a long night pedalling. Chad's dad drove him back to the truck. We loaded up and drove home. It was a lot of fun. The trail is so great- all paved, and mostly flat.

21 miles???!!! Wow. You do the unthinkable with four kids. And you're even chipper about it! I'm glad it was such a success and great experience for your kids. They will learn a lot from conquering that long ride. So much confidence to do whatever they put their minds to!
