Hola Amigos...

Chad and I just spent an incredibly awesome week by ourselves in Mexico.  I can't think of anything better to do the first week of April.

We had all sorts of Spring Break plans.  Abbie was flying to Phoenix to spend the week with Chad's parents, and Reese and Alec were flying to St. Louis to spend the week with my parents.  Suddenly we found ourselves with the prospect of having only our two little kids home for a whole week.  Well, it's so much easier to leave two kids with a babysitter than 5.  We took our opportunity, hired a nice sitter for Luke and Claire, and headed off to paradise for 8 days of R&R.

We did a little zip lining into a cenote.  Don't mind Chad's back flop.  He really became quite skilled by the end of the day, doing dives and flips and all sorts of amazing tricks.

Here is our little resort.  It consisted of about 16 little beach bungalows lined up on either side of this sort of courtyard filled with hammocks and palm trees. It was right on the beach as.

A LOT of sunbathing and relaxing and hammock swinging and ocean dipping.

This is our own little bungalow.  The most awesome part was that it had two double beds :).  And of course we are just too old to squeeze into a double bed, so we pushed the two together.

It had a loft with another double be incase we had any company.

Front porch.

Lunch in Playa Del Carmen

Hour and a half walk home along the beach from Playa Del Carmen.

Taking pictures of ourselves with my iphone.

Bungalows at night.

Chad got a bit sunburned.

A little more zip lining

We took a ferry to Cozumel and rented two scooters.  We scooted around the entire island.  It was probably my favorite part of the whole trip.

Stopped along the roadside/beachside for a little lunch.

Napkin jar with Reese's name on it.

We took an LDS tour of the ruins of Tulum and Chichen Itza.  So cool, about 104 degrees.

Another cenote

Supposedly the longest zipline in North America.

I got a spray tan right before we went and it was horrible.  Look closely at my hand in this picture.  It's super dark and splotchy, can you tell?  Is it better to look like a white marshmallow, or have splotchy dark brown hands and feet?
